It's part of May 1986 radio address by former President Reagan addressing the urging by many Congressional leaders to impose quotas and tariffs on our allies in Europe and others around the world.

I don't expect to live long enough to see the US recover from Trump's rampage and destruction. I expect things to get worse before they get better. Trumpism is our national affliction similar to alcoholism or drug addiction. We need to hit rock bottom before we wake up and seek rehab.

Trump will leave office or die, but I fear Trumpism will remain to rot and corrupt our country for decades to come.
