Reps. Alexandria
Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, and Rashida Tlaib showed the courage and insight to make the
necessary, patriotic, and constitutional call for an impeachment inquiry.
I’m with her...and her...and her.
Elizabeth
Warren had this to say when she was interviewed by Rachael Maddow on MSNBC:
This
is about point of principle... This isn’t about politics. This isn’t even
specifically about Donald Trump himself. It is about what a President of the
United States should be able to do and about the role of Congress is in saying:
“No. A president does not get to come in and stop an investigation about a
foreign power that attacked this country, or an investigation about his own
wrongdoing. Equal justice under law, no one is above the law; and that includes
the President of the United States. It is the constitutional responsibility of
Congress to follow through on that.
Because it matters, not just for this president, it matters for the next president, and the next president after that, and the next president after that. I get it…in dictatorships, the government coalesces around one person in the middle and does everything to protect that one person. But that’s not where we live. We live in a democracy, and it is controlled by a constitution. And the way we make that democracy work is with checks and balances. And a president who says, “I don’t have to follow the law, and nobody can touch me on criminal acts” - that’s not right.
The Constitution says that the House and the Senate can do this. […] And every member of the House, and every member of the Senate should be called on to vote: Do you believe that constitutes an impeachable offense? I do believe that the evidence is just overwhelming that Donald Trump has committed these offenses, and that means that we should open proceedings in the House. And then the House can take a vote.

Mueller

To

Certainly not the complicit and assessorial Republican Party. That's for sure.
Conservatives have no hearts and have fully blackened their souls.
"Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, and Rashida Tlaib showed the courage and insight to make the necessary, patriotic, and constitutional call for an impeachment inquiry." ~~ Dave Dubya
These are courageous young women of the most patriotic kind -- in the image of Jefferson, Madison and others. We need more like them -- proponents of democracy and justice for all.
Trumpists are today's equivalent of that time's defenders of the crown -- loyalists to King George.
"...I am a traitor, to racist white nationalist MAGAts, to their leader, and to all their like-minded National Socialist 'very fine people'." ~~ Dave Dubya
Please include me, Dave. I'm with you on this. I'll resist Trumpism to my dying breath.
"The Mueller report lays out facts showing that a hostile foreign government attacked our 2016 election to help Donald Trump and Donald Trump welcomed that help. Once elected, Donald Trump obstructed the investigation into that attack." ~~ Senator Elizabeth Warren
So I see Rudy Giuliani hit the talking-heads circuit to defend his mobster boss. He claimed "there's nothing wrong with taking information from the Russians" when pressed for a response about the Trump campaign knowingly accepting a foreign government's intrusion in our electoral process in order to gain political advantage with the American electorate.
Now that's treasonous! Of course your resident troll will never admit this and will remain unabashedly "loyal to the crown".
Taking the loyalty to another level, Vern would have been one to support the Pharisees and the Roman occupiers against the followers of Jesus -- and would have assisted Judas. Perhaps, during a former incarnation, Vern was on the front row cheering on Jesus's crucifixion?
The Democrats investigate Trump for over 2 years. And, the only thing they uncover is their own crimes.
Had he been a conservative of the time, Vern would have delighted in crucifying Christ.
After all, Jesus was a traitor to the religious leaders, calling them out for being hypocrites.
He was also a traitor to imperial Rome, going around telling people there was a power higher than the Roman emperor.
That's not unlike those of us today who understand the Constitution is a higher authority, and higher law, than Putin's white nationalist Big MAGAt.
This loyalty to the Constitution over Trump is called treason by the Big MAGAt and his cult of authoritarian followers, all of whom embrace hate instead of love for their fellow man.
"Volodymyr Zelenskiy, an actor and comedian with no political experience other than playing the role of president in a TV series, has won a landslide victory in Ukraine’s presidential election, with near-complete counting showing he has won over 70% of the vote." ~~ The Guardian, "Comedian wins landslide victory in Ukrainian presidential election, by Shaun Walker, April 22, 2019
No surprise. The U.S. elected an actor, three different times, in addition to a clown.
This country's White House occupant also pretends to be president.
Behold the liar!
The Democrats investigate Trump for over 2 years. And, the only thing they uncover is their own crimes.
Mueller is a Republican. Most of the FBI are. Trump and his cronies are the named, indicted, and convicted criminals.
See how easily he breaks the Ninth Commandment, as well as ignoring the words of Jesus to love his fellow man.
Vern is a tool of Satan, as well as the Big MAGAt. Trump is the false god he serves, not the Creator.
He is no Christian. He is a hypocrite. A common trait in America's fake Christianity. Jesus knows it too. "By their fruits you know them".
JG,
I'd take Zelenskiy over Trump any day. In fact I'd take any comedian over Trump. Well, maybe not Roseanne. Or maybe so. The great majority of comedians have far more humor, talent, wit and intelligence than those on the Right.
Ukraine has so many problems, especially with Russia. Zelenskiy was favored by disparate factions that rarely agree. He's a "uniter", if nothing else. Putin won't congratulate him for winning, so that could be a good sign.
Rule Two of the Traitor Left:
If claims of racism doesn't work, attack the conservative's religion.
Sorry dave, that dog will not hunt.
"If you are with her, her and her, you are a traitor." - JTF
"Rule Two of the Traitor Left:" - JTF
Words have lost all meaning.
"The Democrats investigate Trump for over 2 years. And, the only thing they uncover is their own crimes." - JTF
For example...?
Dave you're letting the troll uninterested in having a substantive conversation derail things again. Observe how it shifts lanes attempts to pull out the Christian victim card when it becomes uninterested in persuing its original point. Especially poor taste considering actual Christians were attacked for their religion this Easter. Shameful.
"If claims of racism doesn't work, attack the conservative's religion." ~~ Timothy L. Trueblood V, or simply just as "Vern"
and...
"I attacked [Vern's] hypocrisy, and proved how he fails to respect the teachings of Jesus." ~~ Dave Dubya
Vern mistakens our criticism of his hypocrisy with an attack of his supposed religion. It's interesting that he cannot discern the difference.
Could Vern also have a Jesus complex? If so, how? After all, Jesus believed in feeding the hungry, healing the sick, taking care of the poor, and loving all. Vern doesn't believe in any of these, so I guess that's not it.
Maybe you're right, Dave. Could Trump be Satan incarnate, and his many unrepentant supporters are his devils?
"The great majority of comedians have far more humor, talent, wit and intelligence than those on the Right." ~~ Dave Dubya
Undoubtedly.
We've had this conversation before. The preponderance of comedians are liberals and left-thinkers. Conservatives are, understandably, a small percentage of this pool. It's impossible to see the irony and satire in life when you're telling others what to do (or not to do).
It's not a coincidence that even the fictional Roseanne was always ordering the Connor household around.
TB3,
I just wanted to publish enough of his remarks to show how hateful, racist, and fascist he really is.
After the second racist fascist-style accusation and playing his victim cards, JTF went full-tilt on deflection and whataboutism. First up, Hillary... then the Obama Justice Department... Lisa Page and Peter Strzok... Brennan, Clapper, Comey, and McCabe..real crimes... Stzok and Page again... Bruce Ohr...Clinton... fake Steele Dossier... HRC and the DNC...Bruce Ohr again... Steele Dossier to secure the FISA warrant...Mueller...Democrats... Steele Dossier... Steele Dossier.. Steele Dossier. Etc.
It's almost as if he doesn't want us talking about Mueller finding:
"Papadopoulos had suggested to a representative of that foreign government that the Trump Campaign had received indications from the Russian government that it could assist the Campaign through the anonymous release of information damaging to Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. That information prompted the FBI on July 31, 2016, to open an investigation into whether individuals associated with the Trump Campaign were coordinating with the Russian government in its interference activities."
Or:
"...the Special Counsel’s investigation established that Russia interfered in the 2016 presidential election"
Or:
"...a Russian intelligence service conducted computer-intrusion operations against entities, employees, and volunteers working on the Clinton Campaign and then released stolen documents. The investigation also identified numerous links between the Russian government and the Trump Campaign...established that the Russian government perceived it would benefit from a Trump presidency and worked to secure that outcome, and that the Campaign expected it would benefit electorally from information stolen and released through Russian efforts,"
Or:
"WikiLeaks’s first release came in July 2016. Around the same time, candidate Trump announced that he hoped Russia would recover emails described as missing from a private server used by Clinton"
Or:
"Some of the earliest contacts were made in connection with a Trump Organization real-estate project in Russia known as Trump Tower Moscow."
Or maybe he is deflecting from Mueller finding:
"On June 9, 2016, for example, a Russian lawyer met with senior Trump Campaign officials Donald Trump Jr., Jared Kushner, and campaign chairman Paul Manafort to deliver what the email proposing the meeting had described as “official documents and information that would incriminate Hillary.” The materials were offered to Trump Jr. as “part of Russia and its government’s support for Mr. Trump.” The written communications setting up the meeting showed that the Campaign anticipated receiving information from Russia that could assist candidate Trump’s electoral prospects,"
Or:
"Throughout 2016, IRA accounts published an increasing number of materials supporting the Trump Campaign and opposing the Clinton Campaign."
Or:
"Roger Stone, Sean Hannity, and Michael Flynn Jr. retweeted or responded to tweets posted to these IRA-controlled accounts. Multiple individuals affiliated with the Trump Campaign also promoted IRA tweets..The Office identified dozens of U.S. rallies organized by the IRA...Posts from the IRA-controlled Twitter account @TEN_GOP were cited or retweeted by multiple Trump Campaign officials and surrogates, including Donald J. Trump Jr., Eric Trump, Kellyanne Conway, Brad Parscale, and Michael T. Flynn"
Or:
"The President launched public attacks on the investigation and individuals involved in it who could possess evidence adverse to the President, while in private, the President engaged in a series of targeted efforts to control the investigation. For instance, the President attempted to remove the Special Counsel; he sought to have Attorney General Sessions unrecuse himself and limit the investigation; he sought to prevent public disclosure of information about the June 9, 2016 meeting between Russians and campaign officials; and he used public forums to attack potential witnesses who might offer adverse information and to praise witnesses who declined to cooperate with the government. Judgments about the nature of the President's motives during each phase would be informed by the totality of the evidence."
Or:
"Sanders acknowledged to investigators that her comments were not founded on anything."
Or maybe this:
“[W]hile this report does not conclude that the President committed a crime, it also does not exonerate him.”
Maybe this is what he doesn't want us to talk about?
JG,
"Jesus believed in feeding the hungry, healing the sick, taking care of the poor, and loving all. Vern doesn't believe in any of these, so I guess that's not it.'
Vern only loves the Republican Jesus, who sent us Trump the anti-Christ.
Historical/mythological/Socialist/Hippie/Traitor Jesus is not his role model, and that would be the Jesus who knows the dishonesty, darkness, hate, evil, and hypocrisy within Trump and his cult.
TB3,
And feel free to ignore JTF's unpublished demand that you respond to my "attack" on his religion.
The love/hate letters are pouring in...
I'll be sure to publish the one where he apologizes for the hate and false accusations.
Maybe I can address your attack after we all address the attack on our Democracy.
“'[W]hile this report does not conclude that the President committed a crime, it also does not exonerate him.'
Maybe this is what he doesn't want us to talk about?" ~~ Dave Dubya
Perhaps the dimwit doesn't know the meaning of "exonerate".
Or, possibly, the two words, "does not", when used in conjunction with each other. ;-)
Let's just say JTF had nothing to say regarding any of the items from the Mueller Report I provided.
The white nationalist is spewing more racist hate and lies about Omar. I'm keeping screen prints of all his racism in case he acts on his white "Christian" hatred.
He's acting very much like the MAGAt who was arrested for threatening to kill Omar.
He's really not that different from the 20th Century German National Socialists.
Everything they do is an attack on decency and democracy.
"Maybe I can address your attack after we all address the attack on our Democracy." ~~ TB3
Let's address the attack on our democracy now...
The slow-motion coup d'état began almost 40 years ago with the advent of Reaganism, and is culminating in the outwardly hateful and devisive -- not to mention, regressive -- policies of Trumpism.
We've evolved into a corporatacracy, with eyes wide-shut, and Trump's corrupting high crimes and misdemeanors hardly warrants a shrug of the shoulders from a weak Democratic Party whose role has been diminished to that of a dominatrix's subservient whore.
Both major wings of the all-dominating "Corporatist Party" have sold-out the American people. If this weren't true, Donald Trump never would have had a chance to run for president -- much less win.
The corporate state is firmly entrenched. Comparatively, Trump's crimes are a mosquito bite on the ass of an elephant.
Which is why, on a previous post, I emphasized that "Extinction Rebellion" tactics may be all that we have left.
The 2020s will reveal our fate.
"Rep. Elijah Cummings pointed out that even if the House moves to impeach Trump and the Senate votes against it, 'history would smile upon us for standing up for the Constitution.'" ~~ Dave Dubya
There shouldn't be such hand-wringing by the Democrats about whether to initiate impeachment proceedings, or not.
Of course they need to conduct a full-scale investigation, with the unredacted Mueller Report -- including all appendices and supporting documents, plus all the usual congressional testimonies of not only Barr and Mueller, but also everyone involved with or touched or affected by the obstruction side of the Report.
This is their Constitutional duty. They all pledged to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America, and were appointed with the solemn duty of providing oversight when members of other branches of government have not.
I can't see any other legitimate options on the table right now. Just do it!
JG,
Most Democrats are cowards, and don't dare face the fact that impeachment is the only way for them to uphold their oaths to the Constitution. Corpo-Dems are so conditioned to "not rocking the boat" it makes them passive witnesses, or just corporate tools, instead of active participants in governing.
Some younger ones have figured it out. I hope they mold the party back into how it was intended to function. It begins with impeachment. Whether impeachment fails or not isn't the question. It MUST be done. Just because a Republican Senate stops it, doesn't mean Trump will be reelected. If Trump isn't impeached, he could still be reelected, or a worse tyrant will take us further into anti-democratic authoritarianism.
There's plenty of justification already in the released report. Much more is in the counter-espionage elements of the case and the investigations still under way.
This is the last hill to take a stand for the defense of democracy. They'd better not blow it.
Totally agree Jeff. The wishy-washy Democrats are pissing me off. I've heard of some people who will stay home in Nov.2020, if they(Dems) don't initiate an impeachment inquiry at the very least. It's their Constitutional and perhaps moral duty like you said. I think Reps. Cortez, Omar and Tlaib are top tier and Rep. Maxine Waters should be thrown into the mix, as she has been speaking impeachment for well over a year now. I've heard some of the weaklings talking about a slap on the wrist censure or let the voters decide. Profiles in Chickenshit, I guess.
They need to " Just Do It " Last hill to stand on for sure.
"I've heard of some people who will stay home in Nov.2020, if they (Dems) don't initiate an impeachment inquiry at the very least." ~~ U.P.Tim
I Will not stay home (never have), but have no qualms about voting third party if the Democrats refuse to perform their constitutional duty. I'll also vote third party if they continue to offer up corporate and Wall Street shills.
Yeah, I'm a tough "customer".
I vote based upon principle and moral- and legal-grounding, not on the capital letter following their name (unlike Dave's resident troll).
JG and Tim,
Nothing would please Vern and his Party of Trump more than people staying home or voting for third parties.
Just sayin'.
Dave, it won't be the first time something about me, or what I've said, gave Vern a woody. ;-)
I'd certainly be strategic in my choices, I assure you, but at the same time I will not put myself in the position of being a political hostage.
JG,
As I noted, there are times and circumstances for third party votes.
Vern the racist is absolutely giddy about you voting for a "racist" governor. Not that Northam actually is, or his stupid blackface stunt was even known before the election.
He really is proud of his racism.
It doesn't take a lot for Vern to get a tingle up his leg. ;-)
He certainly is proud of his racism, isn't he? Remember when he used to deny it? Now he flaunts it.
Ya' know, karma always finds a balance. I'm sure it's why he has a life-threatening illness. His hate is destroying him from the inside.
Ol' Vern told me he's "proud to be white". What an accomplishment!
Since Vern's messiah is busy having another meltdown, I'd like to cheer our troll up with a bit of interesting news from CNN:
And I'm so sorry to say Deutsche Bank doesn't see it as fake news. ;-)
~~~~
Last month, the office of New York Attorney General Letitia James issued subpoenas to Deutsche Bank for records tied to funding for several Trump Organization projects.
The state's top legal officer opened a civil probe after Trump's former lawyer Michael Cohen testified to Congress in a public hearing that Trump had inflated his assets. Cohen at that time presented copies of financial statements he said had been provided to Deutsche Bank.
The bank is in the process of turning over documents, including emails and loan documents, related to Trump International Hotel in Washington, DC; the Trump National Doral Miami; the Trump International Hotel and Tower in Chicago; and the unsuccessful effort to buy the NFL's Buffalo Bills.
~~~~
This explains why the Big MAGAt was whining about Dems and law enforcement wanting to see his taxes and bank transactions, "...all my deals".
"I have been the most transparent president and administration in the history of our country by far"
Only a brainwashed cultist would believe that lie, amirite, Vern?
But relax, Vern. This State of New York case is out of his control. ;-)
