The undeniable truth is this: The
Party of Trump are the enemies of democracy. Identify the enemy and their goals. If we get that straight, first and foremost, we can proceed with a strategy to save our republic.
Until the public figures
that out, the authoritarian far Right's mortal threat to our democratic republic will prevail. They have proven they don't need a majority in our flawed and delicate democratic institutions.
We’ve
seen nothing from the Mueller Report.
All we have is what Trump’s loyal henchman Barr says about the Mueller Report. Barr was always opposed to the investigation. It
has been clear since this unctuous toady’s job application letter to Trump showed he wants to cleanse his boss of the stench of corruption and collusion with
Russia.
Most of us don’t buy it. The Party of Trump reeks of authoritarian corruption, and show only scorn for not only the rule of law, but for basic human decency.
Now the Tangerine Tyrant, like all totalitarian thugs, wants vengeance.
Putin’s
Puppet tweeted to his authoritarian followers: “Congressman Adam Schiff, who
spent two years knowingly and unlawfully lying and leaking, should be forced to
resign from Congress!”
Every
Republican dutifully followed their authoritarian leader and called for Schiff
to step down.
And the Mueller Report has not even been released yet.
Shiff's
eloquent response to the Party of Trump after they demanded he resign from the
House Intelligence Committee should be the lead story in the news until the election.
He has shown the
entire party is corrupt, by aiding and abetting a criminal, and waging open war
on decency, truth, justice, and democracy.
Let these words reach every voter in every corner of the Republic.

"My
colleagues might think it’s OK that the Russians offered dirt on the Democratic
candidate for president as part of what’s described as the Russian government’s
effort to help the Trump campaign. My colleagues might think it’s OK that when
that was offered to the son of the president, who had a pivotal role in the
campaign, that the son did not call the FBI, he did not adamantly refuse that
foreign help — no, instead that son said he would ‘love’ the help with the
Russians.
You
might think it was OK that he took that meeting. You might think it’s ok that
Paul Manafort, the campaign chair, someone with great experience running
campaigns, also took that meeting. You might think it’s OK that the president’s
son-in-law also took that meeting. You might think it’s OK that they concealed
it from the public. You might think it’s OK that their only disappointment
after that meeting was that the dirt they received on Hillary Clinton wasn’t
better. You might think it’s OK. I don’t.
You
might think it’s OK that the president’s son-in-law sought to establish a
secret back channel of communication with Russians through a Russian diplomatic
facility. I don’t think that’s OK. You might think it’s OK that an associate of
the president made direct contact with the GRU through Guccifer 2.0 and
WikiLeaks. You might think it’s OK that a senior campaign official was
instructed to reach that associate and find out what that hostile intelligence
agency had to say, in terms of dirt on his opponent.
You
might think it’s OK that the national security adviser-designate secretly
conferred with a Russian ambassador about undermining U.S. sanctions, and you
might think it’s OK he lied about it to the FBI. You might say that’s all OK,
that that’s just what you need to do to win. But I don’t think it’s OK. I think
it’s immoral, I think it’s unethical, I think it’s unpatriotic and, yes, I
think it’s corrupt, and evidence of collusion.
I
do not think that conduct, criminal or not, is OK. The day we do think that’s
OK is the day we will look back and say that is the day America lost its way.”

Schiff’s
“You Might Think It’s OK” speech should be remembered by history as the line in
the sand, drawn by defenders of truth, justice, decency, and democracy.
It
is nothing less than taking a moral and resolute stand for our Constitution,
rule of law, and what remains of our nation’s dignity.

Thanks Dave for taking the time to type up Schiff's speech. I hadn't heard or read it in it's entirety as of yet. It truly is not OK what they(Trump crime family) did and is truly a line in the sand. We are at a major tipping point. Helluva a job Dave. Thanks again.
Just listened to Adam Schiff's "You Might Think It's Okay" speech on the way home tonight. A gem!
Republicans are going to head for the hills with this.
Meanwhile, even thought President Trump has been exonerated by the team of 'anti-President Trump' "special council" witch hunt members who had Carte Blanche access to -anything and everything-, liberals socialist democrats cannot accept the results. Much like the presidential election they will not accept FACTS unless they agree with them.
"...liberals socialist democrats cannot accept the results." ~~ Timothy L. Trueblood V (or simply known as "Vern")
You're absolutely correct, Vern, I unequivocally do not accept the results of the 4-page Barr Report.
"...they will not accept FACTS unless they agree with them." ~~ Timothy L. Trueblood V (or simply known as "Vern")
Once again. I will not accept the partisan 4-page Barr Report as the final and ultimate synopsis of the over 300-page Mueller Report.
I don't need Barr's questionable CliffsNotes version. I prefer to read the whole, unabridged, work from the original author.
Just an aside, Vern...don't you ever grow fatigued from defending an absolute moron?
Tim,
Thanks. We're past the tipping point. Our ship of state has hit the Republican ice berg and is sinking fast. The crew could right the ship, but too many are Republicans bent on taking it all down. The evil bastards need to be voted out, and we may not have enough time.
JTF,
You capitalized FACTS, but provided none. Zero. Only unintended buffoonish comedy.
"Trump has been exonerated"
If you only had a brain, it would have processed this: "While this report does not conclude that the President committed a crime, it also does not exonerate him'.
But cultists can't think, can they? All the can do is believe their leader's lies. You're such a devoted authoritarian follower. You really are. No BS.
JG,
I'll tell you what. Vern would likely take a bullet for Trump, even if Trump was groping his daughter. I really don't think this would be an exaggeration. That's how cults are.
I invite him to tell me I'm mistaken and show us where the line would be. But he won't.
Just like he could never show where I lied.
Even with a form provided.
“Dave, I have to say you are wrong in stating (_____) and claiming (_______). These facts (_____) and (____) suggest you are mistaken.”
Let's imagine how he could approach this.
“Dave, I have to say you are wrong in stating (Vern would likely take a bullet for Trump) and claiming (even if Trump was groping his daughter). These facts (I would take a kick to the groin for Trump) and (even if he was buying my wife's silence) suggest you are mistaken.”
I still think he'd take the bullet as Trump groped his daughter. He's free to amend this form any time, if I am mistaken.
I see that der Fuher-in-chief was at it again with his signature vicious attacks on the press and media last night in Grand Rapids.
I wonder what storm-trooper Vern thinks about der Fuher's constant and malicious attacks on the fourth estate?
No, not really, I don't. We all know Vern goose-steps, arm-in-arm, with anything der Fuher says. All good neo-Nazis do.
"For Mr Barr to quickly issue a four-page report in his attempt to try to exonerate Mr Trump, and now to delay the release of an over-300-page report written by Mueller has too much of the odor of political expediency to help the man who appointed him, President Trump." ~~ Senator Chuck Schumer, March 28, 2019
It's not OK. It's a travesty. A politically motivated act of total disregard for the rule of law and constitutional oversight.
It's not OK.
Barr's actions - up until this corrupt and immoral and unethical presidency - would have only been seen in third-world dictatorial nations.
It's not OK...
...and should not be tolerated in a democratic nation built around constitutional laws, ideals and processes.
It's not OK.
Meme of the day
Democrats in 2017: “Republicans must accept Robert Mueller’s findings.”
Democrats in 2019: “We do not accept Robert Mueller’s finding!”
"Meanwhile, even thought[sic] President Trump has been exonerated by the team of 'anti-President Trump' "special council" " - JTF
"If you only had a brain, it would have processed this: "While this report does not conclude that the President committed a crime, it also does not exonerate him'." - DD
I find it funny that you actually think JTF knows what Barr's 4 Page Summary of Mueller's Summary of his 300 page report says. They are following the dictates of our President, don't believe what you see or read in the media. Only trust what comes out of the President's Word Hole. The President says the Press is the enemy of the people, JTF parrots it, despite that sentiment being wholly un-Democratic. The President says the Special Counsel is a partisan witch hunt, JTF parrots it, despite the fact it was an investigation launched by his own Justice Department and run by a life long Republican. He trashes the FBI as partisan, JTF parrots it, despite the FBI never having once been lead by a Democrat since its inception.
There's no critical thought. No thinking for themselves. And this is assuming JTF is sincere is their utter and complete ignorance. JTF is a sock puppet with a hole in its "head". You can see the orange fingers milling about inside as JTF posts/cuts and pastes their drivel. It's only the cheetos inside the sock that have any thought of their own.
Or
They're just a sad waste of a person trolling because it's the only thing left in life that provides those warm fuzzies.
Either option is pathetic.
I thought you weren't going to publish their wastes of time anymore?
JG,
After last night's neo-Nazi rally in Grand Rapids, AOC will no doubt be receiving even MORE death threats.
TB3,
I think both options apply. All he has is his white nationalist hate. It is his identity. No thought required. His cult gives his pathetic life meaning.
I'm in his head, like AOC is haunting the white nationalists. Let's call it Dave Dubya Derangement Syndrome.
Most of his love/hate letters don't get published. I confess I love to keep an authoritarian dangling in uncertainty under my authority to publish or not. He's under my rules, and I get to make them up, or change them, just like his Dear Leader.
JTF,
Still no facts, huh? But you're doing a great job "Sieg Heil-ing" for your Leader. That's all that matters, isn't it?
Look! > > > "it also does not exonerate him" < < <
You missed that? You ignored that? You don't care?
It only proves you are exactly as ignorant a puppet as TB3 noted.
"Democrats in 2019: “We do not accept Robert Mueller’s finding!” - JTF
And which Democrats are saying this, exactly? I would find it interesting since the finding hasn't been shown to Congress yet.
Oh, Hell. Why am I feeding the troll? They don't have an answer to my question. Even if they were even capable of reading and responding to it, the response would be a non-sequitor in lockstep with the Alt-Right Playbook.
TB3,
His response would be something like this: "Look over there! AOC! Green New Deal!"
Apparently he accepts my opinion that he'd take a bullet for Trump while his leader was groping his daughter.
It is a cult, after all.
"Even if they were even capable of reading and responding to it, the response would be a non-sequitor in lockstep with the Alt-Right Playbook." ~~ TB3
TB3, you should allow more patience with this blog's resident troll. Keep reminding yourself that English is a second language for him -- that his first tongue is stupid.
It's the reason he understands Donald Trump so well.
"Apparently he accepts my opinion that he'd take a bullet for Trump while his leader was groping his daughter." ~~ Dave Dubya
I think he'd be fine with it, Dave.
I do wonder, though, whether he'd take a bullet for Trump if the president were performing an abortive procedure on his daughter?
I mean, c'mon, we all have our own personal "lines in the sand", don't we? ;-)
My next post will be referring to another piece by Ian Danskin, the writer of "The Alt-Right Playbook".
We'll take a look at "The Origin of Conservatism". Hint: It's rooted in monarchy and its royalist defenders.
Watched AOC's town hall tonight in the Bronx. I'm more impressed with her than ever before. She's so authentic; so real.
Thinking back about last night's town hall with AOC, I can't help but compare her ability to articulate, reflect, describe and paint a vivid picture of what's happening and what needs to be done to work toward averting disaster...
...with the meandering incohesive ranting, and purposeful lying, of a demagogic tyrant.
The wrong person's president.
Looking forward...
No monarchs or royalists in my family's lineage, that's for sure. Must be why I'm a proponent of personal and individual choice and freedom.
