There's
some simple reason why every rube, dupe, racist, white nationalist, Klansman, neo-Nazi, white
supremacist and Pizzagate/Alex Jones paranoid conspiracy nut supports and
defends Trump.
There's
got to be some simple reason why those people resent, fear and hate liberals,
minorities, teachers, journalists, and climate scientists. There must be a
simple reason why they oppose minority voting rights, women’s rights, labor
rights, unions, democracy, public healthcare, public safety nets, higher
education, and public education so intensely.
Is
there some simple reason why these frightened and ill-informed Americans want
to eliminate Constitutional regulation of commerce, and Constitutional taxes on
powerful corporate and economic elites? Can there be a simple reason why they
oppose our Constitutional general welfare by regulations on polluters and
bankers?
Is
there a simple reason why all of this resentment, anger, and hate primarily
serve the interests of the Republicans, the Right, the rich, and the Party of
Trump?
There
must be some simple reason why resentful and angry authoritarian personalities
love, support, and defend Trump so fanatically they have abandoned basic human
decency.
After
only my first sip of coffee, I can think of one particular simple reason.
The simple reason is Trump hates the same people they hate.
The simple reason is Trump hates the same people they hate.
It
is that simple. THEY are that simple.
It’s
the hate, stupid.
Their
hate is learned. It is indoctrinated. It is fed, and force fed relentlessly. It
is the conformity of the Cult of Right-wing Authoritarian Personalities. It is
manifested as the true Trump Derangement Syndrome, infecting an authoritarian
cult of fear, resentment, anger, and hate.
All
of this resentment, fear, and hate is engendered to manipulate and motivate
enough voters to fuel the political agenda of corporate interests, and to
maximize profit and power for the ruling economic elites.
It
seems indeed, to this simple mind, a fairly simple explanation for all this.
The
question is, why can’t other simple people get it? When will enough figure out conservatives
tend to be authoritarians.
“I
don’t know why they don’t take care of a situation like that. I think it’s
embarrassing for the country to allow protesters.”

“If
conservatives realize they cannot win democratically, they will not abandon
conservatism, they will abandon democracy.” – David Frum
“Today’s
Democrat Party is held hostage by left-wing haters, angry mobs, deep-state
radicals, establishment cronies and their fake-news allies,” Trump railed.
“Our biggest obstacle and their greatest ally actually is the media.”
So
who are Trump’s allies?
Putin’s
puppet loves him some dictators. “Kim Jong Un of North Korea proclaims
“unwavering faith in President Trump.” Thank you to Chairman Kim. We will get
it done together!”
Trump
has more allies in low places, as well.
Robert
D. Chain, who was arrested for allegedly threatening to murder journalists
at the Boston Globe while mimicking Trump’s language, also connected Mueller’s
investigation to the media. “You’re the enemy of the people, and we’re going to
kill every f–––ing one of you,” Chain snarled into one employee’s voicemail,
according to FBI documents. “Why don’t you call Mueller, maybe he can help
you out.”
In
the same week New York Times reporter Ken Vogel received this threatening
voicemail.
“You
are the enemy of the people. And although the pen might be mightier than the
sword, the pen is not mightier than the AK-47.”
And
in Florida:
"Well,
hello there,” the call begins as the sounds of drums and monkeys can be heard
in the background, “I is Andrew Gillum...We Negroes . . . done made mud huts
while white folk waste a bunch of time making their home out of wood an'
stone."
The
speaker goes on to say he'll pass a law letting African Americans evade arrest
“if the Negro know fo' sho' he didn't do nothin'."
No
wonder Trump and his white nationalist and fascist allies have to project their
“angry mob” accusations against pro-democracy dissenters.
It
is all part of their hate for Americans, and scorn for American values of
equality and consent of the governed.
This
election is when Americans will choose white nationalist fascism over democracy.
Even if MORE Americans vote for Democratic Senators and Representatives, the
Right can hold dominance in our failed state. This is no longer a democratic republic
when democracy is defeated.
Democracy:
Use it or lose it.

You can zoom out a little further than your conclusion here. Why do many of these people seemingly hate and have abandonned the things they claimed to hold true as morals? It's easy. It's easier, it's faster to simply lash out at the different than to have to be introspective and empathetic towards situations or conditions that you're unfamiliar or uncomfortable with.

Wonderful question. However, I want to know when Conservatives will start to take a stand and segregate themselves from "conservatives". "conservatives" are those that use that moniker to hide behind rather than as a set of ideals. Conservatives and Progressives are people who see a problem and have different thoughts or ideas on how to address the problem. "conservatives" are people who deny there is a problem. The definition of problem for "conservatives" is 'Whatever they are for, we are against'. So it seems.

Conservatives should be appalled at this statement. Appalled. I imagine Conservatives are. "conservatives" don't seem to care about the Constitution. Those that fight so manically to "defend" the 2nd Amendment should be just as visceral in their defense of the 1st. They treat the Constitution like they treat the "bible", they like certain parts of it and ignore/deny other parts of it. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if they have never actually read either.

Naked projection. Again. People who love this country and defend the Constitution should be appalled by this statement.

This angry mob nonsense is more naked projection. Protesting is a fundamental right that we all hold dear. Do not demonize people for exercising it. You demonize people that send bombs to George Soros, or run counter-protesters over with cars, or people waving the flags of genocidal people or traitors to this Nation or shoot up pizza places or attack random people of color on the street just cause they have a turban on their head. No? We should be afraid of the media reporting, usually verbatum, what the President and his allies state or Women arguing for a different appointee to the highest court in the land or people of color demonstrating before a game of Sportsball against unjust violence by the police towards a group of people.
Conservatives should be appalled if they truly love this Nation, its Constutition and its character.
I guess I replied too soon in regards to people being sent bombs.
I hope those on "the right" use this as an introspective moment.
Unfortunately, I'm likely to hear more about false flags and "WHAT ABOUT ANTIFA?" than I will hear about re-evaluating idealogy and rhetoric.
I'm afraid TB3 is right. I'm sure that's about all we'll hear from the CRAP, more what about isms etc. Trump turning off his evil rhetoric is very doubtful. It seems to be working for his deplorable base. False flags seem to be their way of justifying evil acts. I hope they catch the prep soon, so we can identify his ideology etc.
TB3,
I hope those on "the right" use this as an introspective moment.
I would hope so too, but introspection is not a quality of the authoritarian personality.
We need to call out this new "con-servatism" as the ideology of hate that it has become. It is their religion and it is a cult. Power is all that matters, Jesus and the Constitution are entirely beside the point.
It's bad enough con-servatism has waged war on our democracy and our free press. It was bad enough when they gunned down doctors and innocent people in churches. It was bad enough at their deadly hate rallies.
Now con-servativism is employing terrorism by bombs to tear our country apart.
This is now open fascism. And millions of Americans are now embracing it.
They are now threats to the public, and domestic enemies of the Constitution.
The Republican Party is now the complicit Party of Trump. Even if, or maybe especially if, the Dems take the House, the Right will amp up their war on freedom, equality and our Constitution.
Count on it.
UP Tim,
Evil is the correct term, and we should always use it in our descriptions of their cult.
Good to see you are still around, DD! Now more than ever.
Hi, Anne,
Yeah, I'm too ornery and stubborn to go away quietly.
Hope all is well with you and yours.
Republicon ISIS has finally gone to far sending a bomb to Robert DeNiro for simply stating " F--K Trump ". I'm no fan of some media, but Trump placing blame on it for the attempted bombings is ludicrous. If any media should be blamed it should be Faux News. They are catering to and inciting violence by Trump's deplorable base with all of their (Faux News) lies.
"This election is when Americans will choose white nationalist fascism over democracy." ~~ Dave Dubya
It seems as though "the caravan" is shaping up to be this election cycle's "October surprise". Our Idiot-in-chief warns of the imminent danger and promises to send military force to defend our southern border from this attack.
Coincidently, or not, it's exactly what would be expected of a white nationalist fascist regime-in-the-making.
Gee, I certainly hope our $700 billion, plus, military budget can defeat the likes of a group of, maybe, 1,000 poor refugees escaping persecution in Hondorus and other Central American nations ravaged by war and military coups.
After all, our military was stellar in stopping nineteen Muslims from defeating us back in 2001 under another inept Republican administration. I "hope and pray" we'll triumph again! ;-)
Warning: Be vigilant of red flags.
"Even if Dems take the House, the white nationalist mob will only step up their aggression and violence." ~~ Dave Dubya
I'll go out on a limb; probably a very strong and stout branch, and predict the Government Of Putin will retain both chambers of Congress.
Trump's been correct about one thing all along. The whole thing's rigged. We've suspected this for a long time. Given the 2000 debacle, and very likely the manipulation of voting in swing states in '04, our democratic institutions have been compromised beyond repair. The spectacle of free elections has become folly; political theater at its worst.
If I'm correct, we're doomed.
Despite the forty year run of this mostly one-act play, we're still obligated to play our parts.
Make sure to give your best performance November 6th. Act like your life depends on it.
JG,
The MAGA Bomber may sway a few votes.
But yeah, I expect there will be more votes for Democrats, and Republicans will still keep the House and Senate. This is what makes America great, isn't it?
It's up to the younger people. They will either vote, or pay dearly down the line.
Glad I ain't young.
"The MAGA Bomber may sway a few votes." ~~ Dave Dubya
It'll probably ramp up Trump's deplorable hateful base, plus the other rightwingers who love violence - which is most of 'em.
"It's up to the younger people." ~~ Dave Dubya
That's a scary thought, and exactly why we're doomed. They're mostly clueless to the ramifications of this white nationalist, fascist, movement.
"[Young people] will either vote, or pay dearly down the line." ~~ Dave Dubya
My money's on paying dearly down the road. They're already paying, but for the most part mommy and daddy are covering their living expenses and other bills, plus their immobilization in the entertainment bubble has kept them isolated from the realities of life.
It's going to be a very inconvenient truth when they're forced to be on their own and this bubble finally bursts.
