Montana Republican House candidate Greg Gianforte is a thug.
The authoritarian Republican thug was annoyed by the questions from
a journalist, and apparently grabbed him by the neck and threw him to the ground.
The extreme Right’s war on journalism is getting violent. Let's be clear. Journalism-hating thugs with a political agenda are fascists.
An
editorial in the Helena Independent Record described the paper as
“sick and tired of Gianforte’s incessant attacks on the free press.”
“In
the past, he has encouraged his supporters to boycott certain newspapers,
singled out a reporter in a room to point out that he was outnumbered, and even
made a joke out of the notion of choking a news writer, and these are not
things we can continue to brush off,” the paper’s editorial staff wrote
Thursday.
Last
month, a voter at a Gianforte town hall pointed out a journalist in the room,
called the media “the enemy” and mimed the act of wringing a neck.
Gianforte
smiled and pointed at the reporter.
“We
have someone right here,” he said, according to the Ravalli Republic. “It
seems like there are more of us than there is of him.”
Fascists are bullies. Fascists body slam journalists. Liberals do not.
The difference is as clear as it is between Trump and Obama. And
Obama wasn’t even that liberal.
One is a decent human being. The other is not. One is
well-informed and educated. The other is not. One was demonized as a foreign
Muslim. The other is our gift from the Republican Party and conservatives.
The ugly monster of “Lügenpresse” has returned. “Lügenpresse”
was a Nazi slur shouted at a Trump rally.
Critics of Hitler’s regime were frequently referred to as
members of the “Lügenpresse apparatus.”… “Lügenpresse” (lying press) was an important
component under propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels.
And yes, it is reasonable to invoke similarities to Nazis when
noting fascist behavior. Look at the open hate at Trump rallies. “Lock her up!”
was chanted by the liar and Russian tool Flynn. Kremlin Don has cozied up to
Russia and called American journalism the “enemy of the people”.
The Nazis were defeated. Fascism survives, and Republican fascists
are coming out of the woodwork.
Other Republican thugs rallied to Gianforte’s defense.
Trent Franks: “The left has precipitated this tense,
confrontational approach…”
Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-CA) : “It’s not appropriate behavior.
Unless the reporter deserved it.”
Brent Bozell: “Jacobs is an obnoxious, dishonest first class
jerk. I'm not surprised he got smacked.”
This is your brain on American con-servatism folks. This is
fascism.
Resist and persist.

All that and much more!
When you have a pile of shit at the top, everyone below him is shit too. Republicans continue to verify that every day.
And to think, despite the criminal intent and despite the assault charge, the asshole still won last night. This shows the depths to which the cultist alt-right has taken the reins of the runaway Republican party. Like the brown shirts many decades ago, they've accepted and normalized violence to a degree not seen since the days of the Third Reich.
The march against truth and justice has taken yet another giant leap.
Resist the tyranny. Keep fighting.
"Con-servative Re-Thug-licans" has become the accurate term for the American neo-fascists.
Dave, Good News in Montana with that special election! Obama's Tsunami, of lost seats at the State and Federal level, is still strong!
If you are a republican running for office, here's what body slamming a media-type will do to your poll numbers!:
1. Body slam a 'reporter' for the Guardian: +3 points.
2. Body slam a cast member of SNL: +6 points.
3. Body slam a 'reporter' for CNN: +8 points.
4. Body slam a 'reporter' for the NYT or the WaPo: + 10 points.
5. Body slam a paid protestor (rioter) like Tim Caine's thug for a son. +50 points
6. Body slam a MSNBC host +100
Arch came through. From the person who takes the name of an ignorant white racist character... What better case study can there be of a brain on con-servatism?
Arch loves to show us he can sound just like a fascist thug too.
He really hates the “Lügenpresse" just like his German heroes did in the past, and like Kremlin Don does now.
So does all this hate mean America is white again? er, I mean, great again, Arch?
Arch wants to compare a Republican congressman's assault on a journalist to what the Kaine kid did at a pro-Trump rally.
Kaine's son didn't grab anyone by the neck and throw him to the ground. He was also not praised by Democrats for doing it.
Many in the Party of Thugs openly endorsed the body-slamming of a journalist. Why? Because they are fascists.
Dave Dubya: "Imagine how stupid, or racist, or willfully ignorant, one must be to believe Trump and the Republicans."
It used to be difficult to imagine -- there used to be an element of the benefit of doubt.
Not in today's world, though, where conservatives and Republicans are racist, and are willfully ignorant -- or, as you said, just plain stupid. The evidence is abundantly clear. They will follow their leader over a cliff, at any cost, and unfortunately take the rest of America with them.
What's up, Arch?
Wednesday night Klan meeting cancelled? Got a need to go out and act tough, now, son?
Did the rule of law apply to Trump for his sexual assault? No? IOKIYAR, amirite?
Thugs assault people, or approve of the violence.
Was that your point?
"Be a man", meaning criminally grabbing women's privates, or journalists by the neck and throwing them to the ground?
Or just cheering the thugs on, like you do?
In that case, you're a real man, Arch. You're real brave when you don't have to face someone face to face. I've dealt with blowhard punks like you. Tough talk, no guts. Also very, very stupid.
Sad.
ArchieBunkerNYC: "...who thinks like [sic] 9/11 was inside job..."
It wasn't?!? Available evidence proves otherwise.
I suppose, one needs to be at least somewhat intelligent to understand and comprehend the reasons. I guess, Archie, that disqualifies you. :-)
But, not surprisingly, you'll believe fairy tales and other irrational stories involving physical impossibilities. It makes sense, now that I think about it. ;-)
JG,
Arch believes in Trump. That alone separates him from reality...and from compassion...and from basic human decency...and from reason...and from most of the country.
Since he believes both Trump and the ruling Republican Party, doesn't that make HIM the "statist" now?
Or should we ask the "state run media"? Oops, that has magically changed too.
THAT is a brain on con-servatism.
Dave Dubya: "Since he believes both Trump and the ruling Republican Party, doesn't that make HIM the 'statist' now?"
Absolutely! Fascists and state-capitalists, like Chuck, extol the virtues of statism. They just aren't smart enough to see it that way. The corporate-state will run them over like a truck, yet they'll always blame their woes on the liberals. Always.
Speaking of...Trump's base can't see beyond their thigh-high grass and the old pickup truck on blocks in their front yards. They're minimalists, in a sense. They exert minimal brain power in anything that requires thinking. It hurts too much. ;-)
