Look what the lucky drivers in Mason City, Iowa were treated to this week.

This is what emerges from a mind prone to mixing Glenn Beck's radical political ideology, Rush Limbaugh's ignorance of history, and a whole lot of Fox-fueled fear and anger.

Some more sensible Tea Partiers have disavowed this billboard and it is no longer up in Iowa.

But, wow, that is one massive load of radical right wing projection.

"Radical" leaders lie and start wars of aggression, imprison without charges or counsel, and wiretap citizens without court orders. And how could anyone but the fearful and naive actually believe Obama is anything like a dictator?

I don't recall any billboards of Bush that remotely approached this kind of hysteria, despite Bush/Cheney's very real real common behavior with those tyrants.

The fear-mongering, hate-sowing Reich Wingers don't even realize that THEY are living proof of the lie they promote.

If Obama was anything resembling a Hitler or a Stalin, the idiots who put that billboard up would be dead.

In 1988 President Reagan designated the First Thursday in May of each year as the National Day of Prayer.

In June 2007 (then) Presidential Candidate Barack Obama declared the USA was no longer a Christian nation.

This year Obama canceled the 21st annual National Day of Prayer ceremony at the White House under the ruse of "Not wanting to offend anyone"

On September 25, 2009 from 4 am until 7 PM, a National Day of Prayer for the Muslim religion was Held on Capitol Hill, beside the White House.There were over 50,000 Muslims that day in D.C.

The direction this country is headed should strike fear in the heart of every Christian, especially since the Muslim religion believes that if Christians cannot be converted, they should be annihilated. Maybe someone, somehow can figure out a way to put America back on the map as it was when we were growing up, a safe place to live by The Ten Commandments and Pledge of Allegiance.

Thanks. It’s always enlightening to hear from the Christo-fascist Americans.

I guess they think Obama the “Foreign born Muslim/Marxist/Socialist/Communist” is turning us into a Muslim nation.

And I missed that part of the Constitution that said we are a Christian nation.

I must have been distracted by that “no religious test shall be required” nonsense.

I’ve always suspected those founders were liberals secretly trying to bring about “change”.

Just who are these “Christians” anyway?

Mostly I hear a lot of bitching about “rendering unto Caesar” by the wealthy and greedy servants of Mammon. (AKA the Republican Party) They HATE paying Constitutional taxation so much they ignore what Jesus said about paying taxes.

Can’t say I’ve seen much “Christian” love of their fellow man, though. The Republicans’ contempt for the poor and unemployed is more than clear.

Let’s look at some of that conservative Christo-fascist “compassion” as they cut off unemployment benefits for laid off Americans.

SHARRON ANGLE, NEVADA SENATE CANDIDATE: That‘s what‘s happened to us, is that we have put in so much entitlement into our government that we really have spoiled our citizenry and said, you don‘t want the jobs that are available.

SEN. JON KYL, ARIZONA: That doesn‘t create new jobs. In fact, if anything, continuing to pay people unemployment compensation is a disincentive for them to seek new work.

EN. ORRIN HATCH, UTAH: You know, we should not be giving cash to people who basically are just going to blow it on drugs.

LT. GOV. ANDRE BAUER, SOUTH CAROLINA: My grandmother was not a highly educated woman but she told me as a small child to quit feeding stray animals. You know why? Because of they breed. You‘re facilitating the problem. If you give an animal or person ample food supply, they will reproduce, especially ones that don‘t think too of further than that. And so, what you got to do is you got to curtail that type of behavior. They don‘t know any better.

Never mind the unemployed, after all, the point is that these “Christians” really “will/should be offended”.

This matters very much in setting them up for an emotional reaction. Their mission is to spread fear, hatred and anger. These are not real Christians. My Mother was a real Christian. The Amish are real Christians. Compared to them, I’m a real Christian.

Real Christians do not make it their mission to incite fear, hatred and anger. Real Christians at least try to follow Christ’s example of love and compassion.

Christo-fascists have a radical right, anti-democracy political agenda. They want those servants of Mammon to run our government.

Christo-fascists thrive when they bring out the worst in people. As they said, “This is chilling.”

Anger is easy to instill into folks who are convinced their religious beliefs are threatened.

And what better way to accomplish this than to accuse Obama as the attacker of their faith when he, “declared the USA was no longer a Christian nation”?

Never mind that he never said that. He also never “canceled the 21st annual National Day of Prayer ceremony”. It wasn’t scheduled. That’s ok, factual details and honesty are not required.

Like this: “National Day of Prayer for the Muslim religion was Held on Capitol Hill, beside the White House.” Capitol Hill is not “beside the White House". They are well over a mile apart. See what I mean?

Back to the mission at hand, the Christo-fascist turns up the heat and stirs in the fear. “The direction this country is headed should strike fear in the heart of every Christian, especially since the Muslim religion believes that if Christians cannot be converted, they should be annihilated.”

Who wouldn’t fear “that they should be annihilated”? What’s that? You’re NOT afraid to be annihilated? Well, what about the children, you fool? We must pray for our nation, our communities, our families, and especially our children. They are the ones who are going to suffer the most.

Got that? You’d better be afraid, and also be very angry at Obama now. I think he wants to annihilate our children.

To confirm the fear the Christo-fascist gives a link to a scary sounding site about Islam on Capitol Hill. Needless to say there is no such confirmation, just a dire sounding phrase “Our Time Has Come” under their title.

Once more, let’s get back to anger. “For Obama to continue as our president is a SLAP IN THE FACE TO OUR FOUNDING FATHERS and DISGUSTING TO EVERY RED-BLOODED AMERICAN.”

Unlike his predecessor, Obama was constitutionally elected by a clear majority of voters. Isn’t it comforting to know the founders have changed their minds, and now share the Republicans’ disdain for democracy? Although I am a bit saddened to learn EVERY red-blooded American is disgusted to see Obama continue as president. Oh, what to do, what to do? Could this be a call for “Second Amendment remedies” suggested by the fascist lady running for Harry Reid’s Senate seat?

The photo with the caption “He prays with Muslims” is more proof that Christo-fascists don’t particularly care much about honesty.

They say he “prays with Muslims” by showing a picture of Obama taking his shoes off at what they dishonestly suggest is a Muslim “national day of prayer” by the White House.

Nope. That was a photo of Obama touring a mosque during a state visit in Turkey.

Never mind even their “Christian” GWB took his shoes off according to protocol when he visited a mosque.

“Stir your spirit” must be their new code for “stir your hatred for Obama”.

By the time we get to “In God We Trust”, just so you know whose side you’re on, the Christo-fascist’s purpose is fulfilled. His mission to incite hatred and anger against Obama and fear towards our democratically elected president is accomplished.

I don’t suppose this article from the Christian Science Monitor would be within the realm of consideration by our radical right Christo-fascist element.

National Day of Prayer is on, despite court ruling

President Obama has issued a National Day of Prayer proclamation but will not hold an interfaith observance at the White House, as President Bush did. The administration is appealing a ruling last month that the official day of prayer is unconstitutional.

“Thursday, May 6, is the National Day of Prayer, as proclaimed by President Obama. But this year, the annual ritual that began in 1952 is taking place amid controversy.

Last month, a federal judge in Wisconsin ruled that the US law directing the president to proclaim such a day violates the First Amendment, which prohibits government establishment of religion. US District Judge Barbara Crabb also said it was OK to proceed with the National Day of Prayer, pending appeals.

On April 22, the Obama administration appealed Judge Crabb’s ruling to the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago.

But, like last year, Mr. Obama himself will not hold any official prayer day observance at the White House. His predecessor, George W. Bush, had held an annual interfaith observance in the East Room of the White House.

Last year, when Obama decided to limit the White House’s involvement to a proclamation, an urban legend was born: Obama had “canceled” the National Day of Prayer. Not so, the White House said. The myth-busting website Snopes.com has a page devoted to the topic. It’s not that the White House is opposed to prayer, Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said last year. “Prayer is something that the president does every day,” he added, noting that it is private. ...”

Fourth of July 2010

Happy Fourth of July! And happy Fifth of July, and happy Sixth of July...We need to celebrate, and exercise, what freedoms we have left as much as we can. As long as I can still speak my mind to power, I will fly the flag.
