Like I was saying about the tea bagger party on April 15th:
“The entire episode would be utterly and hysterically funny if it were not for the strong likelihood that some of the attendees are the same unstable sort as Richard Poplawski. He was the sociopathic conservative without a conscience who murdered three cops in Pittsburgh. Poplawski’s racist head was filled with crap like Beck’s poisonous lies about Obama coming to take his guns away from him.”
Sure enough, one of them, in Oklahoma City at that, popped up with his crazy ugly anger and got arrested. Daniel Knight Hayden, or to those in Twitter World Citizen Quasar, was on a mission. He tweeted his vision for all his fellow Reich Wing gun nuts, conspiracy nuts, and general all around paranoid Obama Derangement Syndrome sufferers.
The messages sent in the few days running up to his idea of a glorious D-Day went like this:
“Secret Homeland Security Threat Assessment Labels Gun Owners Potential Terrorists
Danish Scientist on TV: Nano-thermite Behind Collapse of WTC Buildings on 9/11, Not Planes
I made 15 copies of "The Obama Deception" which I will hand out. ALSO made 100 flyers...We shall SEE what happens
Maybe it's time to die. Let's see if I can video record the Highway Patrol at the entrance to the Oklahoma State Capitol...
I WISH I had someone to watch my back with MY camera... And post it on the internet. Since i live on this sorry fucking state, that is as good a place as ANY to die and start a WAR. WEshallsee
Locked AND loaded for the Oklahoma State Capitol. Let's see what happens”
His big day was coming and he was desperate for attention
“START THE KILLING NOW! I am willing to be the FIRST DEATH!
After I am killed on the Capitol Steps, like a REAL man, the rest of you will REMEMBER ME!!!
Send the cops around. I will cut their heads off the heads and throw the[m] on the State Capitol steps.”
I hope the judge was right when he sent Citizen Quasar to a halfway house. Let’s hope this guy can be medicated back to reality. I just don’t happen to think they have strong enough anti-psychotic drugs to treat ODS.
And like I was saying in my post Monday about how we learn:
"Yes, that’s how we learn. And that’s how future presidents learn. They learn to break any law that gets in their way of exercising whatever abuse of power they wish.Remember what we learned from Nixon? “When the president does it that means it is not illegal.”
And sure enough, on the very day I posted that, Iraq war monger Condi Nixon, er... Rice, told students at Stanford these little gems:
“The president instructed us that nothing we would do would be outside of our obligations, legal obligations under the Convention Against Torture."
"The United States was told, we were told, nothing that violates our obligations under the Convention Against Torture, and so by definition, if it was authorized by the president, it did not violate our obligations under the Convention Against Torture.”
There you go. By definition, if the president does it, it’s not illegal, or did not violate any law. The president IS the law. Since the decider decided it, then it must be legal.
Even the dreaded “Communist dictator” Hugo Chavez never so blatantly asserted such a clear crossing of the line to tyranny.
And wasn’t it the perfectly predictable republican projection from Karl Rove when he said investigation of Bush war crimes is what you’d expect from “mirrored sunglass wearing banana republic dictators”
The lessons are once again clearly visible to us. The delusional Reich Wingers see their fellow Americans as enemies. And they embrace totalitarianism for the cause of their megalomaniacal authoritarian cult.
As recent GOP defector Arlen Specter said, “...the Republican Party has moved farther and farther to the right.”
I think moderates, liberals, and anyone else who pays attention are learning that.
Unfortunately we will be seeing more and more evidence of rampant Obama Derangement Syndrome. Let’s hope the flu never reaches that level of pandemic contagion, or we are all in trouble.

Scary that this guy just got sent to a halfway house.
Amazing that Condi can say that stuff with a straight face. You'd think she'd remember what happened to Nixon.
Condi is living on planet Wingnuttopia. Rove is a prefect example of projection. He ran the White House like a banana republic when he wasn't modeling it after Stalin. They all need to be put under the prison (so deep you need to pump daylight to them) for a long, long time!!
Mauigirl, Kulkuri, and Jim,
We see the radical right painting themselves into their corner of extremeism and isolation. This is good for now, but when a crisis brews, they become the loudest voices in media. And thanks to our corporate media who always include those wrong views as legitimate "balance" to reality, they can easily frighten the public into allowing them power again.
Dave, Dave, Dave, my poor pathetic friend who only sees in shades of black. Through one single eye, the left of course, you see only half the picture. Does the sun never shine in your world?
Of course there are loons on the right, and to the left; turn your head so that you might see them. Daniel Andreas San Diego quietly made the F.B.I’s Ten Most Wanted Terrorist list. Although vogue these days, animal rights activist turned bomber is still frowned upon by many. As you would like to link the Tea Baggers to inciting right-wing fringe, I could easily prove that a misguided P.E.T.A organization breeds wackos on the left. It seems not only the right has an affinity for guns; Mr. San Diego is reportedly armed and dangerous. What a logical conclusion, in order to ‘save’ the animals we must kill those humans that we believe impede our cause.
Pull the curtains and let the light in; there’s a brand new day out there.
....and is Obama's insistence on immunity and non-prosecution for war crimes, torture, and shredding of the Constitution any different?????
"Meet the new boss -- same as the old boss"~Pete Townsend
You got me there, Dan.
You found a terrorist who is not a right winger. Although I’m not sure what exactly makes him a left winger. Is it his opposition to cruelty to animals? I could swear a lot of conservatives are opposed to that as well. I couldn’t find anything about this guy where he espoused progressive views. Is he for campaign finance reform? How about the repeal of the Bush tax cuts? Maybe you know something about Mr. San Diego’s political perspective that I don’t. Just wondering.
However, I totally agree with your point about loons from both the left and right. I will still assert that the most dangerous ones are of the right wing variety. Isn’t it interesting that a person who destroys property is elevated to “most wanted terrorist”, and kooks like Adkisson and Poplawski, who slaughtered innocent human beings because of their wacko political beliefs, are not labeled domestic terrorists by the corporate media?
That seems like a heavily slanted bias to the right to me. But then again, we don’t want to upset the right wing crazies by calling them terrorists, do we? They might go out and kill some more.
Look at how their mentor and unofficial boss of the Republican Party Rush Limbaugh stirs them up.
April 14: ‘So what you have here, you have a report from Janet Napolitano and Barack Obama Department of Homeland Security portraying standard, ordinary, everyday conservatives as posing a bigger threat to this country than Al Qaeda terrorists or genuine enemies of this country like Kim Jong-Il.”
April 15: “Does Obama know about the DHS report? Is Obama -- it is Obama's DHS report. The DHS report calling every mainstream conservative a right-wing extremist is who Barack Obama is.”
And one of my favorites where Oxy-Moron ties in the poor victimized banks with the poor victimized average Americans.
May 1: “The third possibility to explain why the big banks rolled over is: They're just scared to death because the Obama administration Treasury Department has their future in its hands. So, of the three possibilities, from the goodness of their hearts, they got secret slush money under the table from TARP, or they're scared to death because the Treasury Department holds the future right in their hands. I vote option three. I vote that the big banks rolled over 'cause they're scared to death, 'cause wherever I go, I don't care who I interact with. They're scared to death of this administration. There is genuine fear of the government from average Americans buying up guns and ammunition like they never have before, to people on Wall Street, the big businesses -- there is abject fear.”
"Every mainstream conserative," eh?
Along with his innumerable lies this man oozes fear-mongering and hysteria. In one minute of air time Rush whines they’re “scared to death” four times, along with spewing “genuine fear” and “abject fear”.
As we see the right wing crazies are agitated enough by hate radio. No sense in throwing gas on the fire by calling them terrorists as well. Maybe the media are on to something after all.
Brother Tim,
In our right wing corporate bought center of empire (AKA US Government) we see a pattern of Democratic presidents who must play along with the Republicans in order to govern. I don't see so much of a reverse of this dynamic. The dems have enough conservatives in their party to prevent anything too liberal from inhibiting the interests of entrenched power.
Corporatism and war criminals can rest safely knowing Obama the business friendly Socialist will not come after them.
Passed on the Bella Award to you, come by and pick it up if you want.
I just heard Romney call Republicans the party of Revolutionaries and us the party of Monarchists. Psycho talk!
Jim--
I can't believe that you good people of Massachusets haven't flushed that turd into Boston Harbor weaing a pair of cement boots and a 50 lb logging chain around his neck.
Kulkuri,
Thanks for the kind gesture. I'll be over.
Jim,
That's a hoot! Romney, the poor disadvantaged Aristocrat, needs to rebel against the oppressive working class elite. Hmm. This could be the inspiration of a new song...
Tim,
Although some are surely more repugnant than others, Republican Aristocrats infect every state.
Dave--
Aristocracy is not proprietary to Republicans..... the Democrats have their share.
Tim,
Indeed they do. And very few are ever the "traitors to their class" like FDR was.
It is amazing how the right labels all democrats as liberals. We know that in reality, greed is bi-partisan. There are enough conservatives, corporatists, and aristocrats in the Democratic Party to keep liberals in a minority for a long time.
And it's tragic, because the interests of most Americans are always under-represented.
